This slide set contains a number of maps relating to the Middle English period, general maps of England and one of London around 1300. There are also four details from the Bayeux Tapestry, a 20 inch high and 230 foot long tapestry depicting the events leading up to the Battle of Hastings in 1066 which is housed in a museum in the town of Bayeux in Normandy, northern France. The details show (i) the opening scene, (ii) Harold’s return to England, (iii) the landing of French troops on English soil and (iv) the death of Harold.
