Essentials
in Adult and Continuing Education in Europe

In the winter semester 2006/07 the Department of Vocational and Business Education
and Training of the University Duisburg-Essen offers an International Course
of Lecture in English. The lecture will take place two-weekly on Wednesday 12-15
h. We will stream the International Course of Lecture into the internet. So
students and experts from all over the world can take part just in time. Students
and experts who are available are welcome to visit the International Course
of Lecture in the Library Hall (Bibliothekssaal) at the Campus Essen.
The International Course of Lecture is a prelude of the European Master in Adult
Education (EMAE)
. This is a European Master Programme which is developed by eight European Uni-versities.
In the winter semester 2006/07 the study units of this programme firstly start
at the University Duisburg-Essen.

Beside the presentation there will be time for questions. You can ask your
questions via Chat. Furthermore we plan (online) group work in each session.
After each session the videos and transcripts of the chats will be saved on
the Moodle-platform
of the University of Duisburg-Essen.
How to take part with your PC
Requirements:
- connection to the internet, at least ISDN connection, ADSL connection recommended
- browser installed, mozilla firefox or internet explorer recommended
- real player (latest version) installed, download under "http://europe.real.com/player/?&src=ZG.eu.idx,ZG.eu.rm.rm.hd.def"
The lectures will be presented inside our learning management system "moodle".
Access is open to the public. For participation in the online discussion, a
moodle-account is necessary. You can register for free under: "http://moodle.uni-duisburg-essen.de/login/signup.php?lang=en_us"
Afterwards please send an Email to vera.sperling@uni-due.de.
She will send you a password for your first login.
Assessment for Students
In several Universities of the EMAE-Partner network you can earn a certificate
(Leistungs-nachweis) for taking part at this lecture. The assessment will be
organised by each univer-sity. If you are interested to earn a certificate,
