Checklist
Please bring the following documents with you:
1. Your certificates (originals and translations in English or German) of that prove your entitlement to study at a university.
2. Your Letter of Acceptance (the so called "Zugangsbescheid", "Zulassungsbescheid" or "Einladung zur DSH-Prüfung"; at Duisburg campus the pink paper).
3. Your passport
4. Passport photo that reflects your current appearance (sized 4 x 3 cm)
5. Original and copy of your language examination (e.g. DSH/PNdS/Test-DaF) showing a "pass" grade (exceptions: students in ISE courses and Master course Water: Chemistry, Analysis, Microbiology)
6. Confirmation of German health insurance cover for presentation at the university for the duration of one semester (summer semester 1 April to 30 September resp. wintersemester 1 October to 31 March).
For participants in German language courses:
Before the semester starts you will need a proof of private (travel) health insurance, valid until 20 April (for the summer semester) or 20 October (for the winter semester).
Applicants who have passed the language exam will need a proof of private (travel) health insurance covering the whole semester, valid until 30 September (for the summer semester) or 31 March (for the winter semester).
7. If necessary, the following documents are needed also:
- a detailed curriculum vitae, if having not attached to your application
- where applicable, according to the examination statutes: proof of a particular training or activity (e.g. traineeship or language examinations)
- in the case of enrolment in an advanced term: proof of crediting of previous periods of study by the responsible examination board
- for ISE students: English language certifiactes (TOEFL, IELTS, etc.)
- leaving or exmatriculation certificate (Exmatrikulationsbescheinigung) if changing university within Germany
- proof of enrolment from the previous term if you were enrolled at another university for the course of studies you want to study here
- clearance certificate (Unbedenklichkeitsbescheinigung) from the examinations office of the (German) university at which you previously studied (the same degree course)
- if study fees have been applicable to you: proof of your study fee account of the German university you studied recently at, and the proof of study fees you already paid
- only for students in two degree courses who are enrolled at a second German university (extra-mural students or Zweithörer): enrolment certificate (Immatrikulationsbescheinigung) for the current semester
