Tuition fees at the University of Duisburg-Essen since April 1st, 2007
Tuition fees have to be paid generally.
Foreign students can be exempted in certain cases. More information can be obtained from the tuition fee rules and regulations, § 7.
Participants in German language or preparatory courses (Studienkolleg) as well as students in doctoral programmes do not have to pay study fees.
Students who attend the University of Duisburg-Essen on the basis of a selected exchange programme, such as ERASMUS or similar, are also exempted from the payment of study fees.

Exemptions from study fees can be made in special cases (in German only - sorry!):
Applications are accepted on a semester basis and are handled by the students’ registration office (Studierendensekretariat.). If your German is not good enough please ask the International Office.
