Important information for Master students who started their master degree in winter semester 2008/09 or later and have graduated from a Bachelor degree course of ISE

Students who have finished their Bachelor degree at the University of Duisburg-Essen in an ISE Bachelor degree course according to PO 04 (enrolment before summer 2008) and now start an ISE Master degree according to PO 08 (enrolment winter 2008 or later) must check their study plan as there might few amendments become necessary.

With the new Examination Regulation (Prüfungsordnung) some courses of the Bachelor program have been moved to the Master level. Therefore, there is a slight chance, that new Master students find some courses in their study plan, which they have already passed during their Bachelor studies. For these courses, these Master students must take substitutional courses, as an examination which has been passed already cannot be taken a second time. Courses once already taken to finish the Bachelor program must not be taken a second time to finish a Master program. Therefore these courses are excluded for students of whose Bachelor study plan they have already been part of.

To fulfill the required number of credits to graduate with the Master degree these students need to choose the courses from the list of substitutes the Faculty is offering. Below you can find a list of substitutes for your courses:
