Colloidal Chemistry of Nanocrystalline Particles for Films with Optoelectronic Applications

Nanoparticles which are produced by Chemical Vapor Synthesis consist usually of aerosols or xerogels depending onf the method of particle collection. The particles are composed of Si-, ZnO-, ITO- (In doped SnO2) and GaN. The challenge in this project is to transfer these (agglomerated) materials into that stable colloidal dispersions by modifying the surface chemistry of the particles.
