Research Program

The philosophy behind the research and educational program of this graduate school was developed by retro-analysis of the scientific problem and enables the problem oriented research towards novel products.

The projects comprise the complete process chain from synthesis, characterization, processing, device-development up to system development and integration. These investigations are supported at critical positions by theoretical studies, namely, electronic properties of individual particles and mesoscopic systems.

The research is performed in eight projects by seven groups. Each graduate member is supervised by the corresponding academic group leader and adviced by a scientist working for our industrial partner Degussa - Science to Business Center Nanotronics .
