The Spring Course "Semiconducting Nanoparticles: Synthesis and Structure" covers the snythesis and structural characterization of semiconducting nanoparticles and is part of the educational program of the Research Training Group / Graduiertenkolleg 1240 "Nanotronics - Optoelectronics and Photovoltaics from Nanoparticles". The program covers lectures on gas and liquid phase synthesis of nanoparticles, industrial aspects of nanoparticle production, structural characterization using electron microscopy and scattering as well as density functional theory.

Speakers are international experts in the field of nanoscience and technology.

The Spring Course will be held in Duisburg from 9th and 11th of May 2007 hosted by the "Research Training Group Nanotronics" and the "Collaborative Research Center Nanoparticles from the Gasphase" both funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). The venue will be the Schweisstechnische Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt, Bismarckstrasse 85, Duisburg.
