Nanoparticles consisting of ZnO and GaN will be produced by Chemical Vapor Synthesis (CVS). These nanocrystalline particles are the building blocks for devices with optoelectronic applications. The properties of nanocrystalline materials depend on composition and crystal structure (intrinsic properties) as well as on size and mesoscopic effects (extrinsic properties). All these properties are influenced at the time of synthesis and can be tuned by doping and surface modification of the particles.
