The Winterschool "Semiconducting Nanoparticles: Optoelectronics and Photovoltaics" covers synthesis, processing, properties and applications of semiconducting nanoparticles and is part of the educational program of the Research Training Group / Graduiertenkolleg 1240 "Nanotronics - Optoelectronics and Photovoltaics from Nanoparticles".

The program consists of lectures on experimental methods as well as the theory of mesoscopic transport and density functional theory and is completed by a session on "Nanotechnology meets Society" and a (open to the public) podium discussion.Speakers are international experts in the field of nanoscience and technology.

The Spring Course will be held in Duisburg from 8th and 10th of December 2010 hosted by the "Research Training Group Nanotronics", the "Collaborative Research Center Nanoparticles from the Gasphase" both funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and CeNIDE, the Center for Nanointegration Duisburg-Essen.

The venue will be the Mercatorhalle im Citypalais, Landfermannstraße 6, 47051 Duisburg.
