Ph.D. position
(75%, salary scale 13 TV-L)
The Ph.D. project comprises computer simulations of the ultra-fast dynamics of excitations in thin metal films on semiconductors, using time-dependent density functional theory. The successful candidate should have a Master or Diploma degree in physics, interest in Computational Physics, and preferably a good command of a programming language (Fortran or C).
This project forms part of the collaborative research efforts at the Faculty of Physics in the Center SFB 616 ("Energy Dissipation at Surfaces") funded by Germany's National Science Foundation DFG.
The appointment will start October 1st, 2010 for one year, with possible extension for another two years. Payment will follow the German standard TV-L E13, according to qualification.
