The SSC, founded in 2008 to replace the former Department of Research Funding and Technology Transfer (FFT), serves the vital function of providing researchers at the University of Duisburg-Essen with a comprehensive offering of support services. The Science Support Centre also coordinates the activities of the university’s primary research institutes.

With the Science Support Centre, the University of Duisburg-Essen took a major step in providing its scientists with the best possible support, allowing them to focus their full attention on their research.
