Ruhr Area - the rise like Phoenix from the ashes

The times are over when pollution and ashfall muddied the sky over the Ruhr Area. Nowadays coal and iron mining play a secondary role in this area. Modern production lines and technologies give a new distinction to the Ruhr Area

The German and European associations of Electrical Engineers VDE and EUREL invite European engineering students to participate in the “RUHR eXperience” event taking place in the European Capital of Culture 2010 from June 10-13. This event offers a 4 day “expedition” of the Ruhr area. Starting from Dortmund you will get a chance to take part in fieldtrips revealing historical and technical highlights of the area. The agenda also offers workshops city tours and the big RUHR eXperience Soccer Cup, in which all participants are welcome to participate. Thus you will get an insight of the culture of the Ruhr Area and you will have a possibility to get to know the other participants in an exciting competition.
