Galapagos - auf den Spuren von Charles Darwin

during the El Nino year 1998 (my stay in Jan. - Febr. 1998)

Because of the high temperature of the ocean (29 degree Celsius) and the extensive rain nearly no food was available for the sea-dependend animals. The breeding activities of the sea-birds was poor. Many sea lions died. The marine iguanas were skinny and many were dead. In contrast the Darwin-Finches living from seeds and insects had a good time.
