back to New(t) project   Xenopus laevis 

This was an excursion with graduate students to a newt pond. All catched animals will be returned to this pond after some weeks. We raise a lot of embryos under laboratory conditions, where over 90 percent will survive in contrast to the situation in nature (about 2 till 10 percent), since there are many predators. To improve the situation in this biotop we bring back well developed larvae in addition to the adult animals.
