From Europe is really no other way to South
Africa than
by plane if you are on a standard vacation. But if you have plenty of
time and if you are even a little bit courageous then we can find out
some other scenarios!
Attention: Regular flights are
mostly fully booked many months in advance even if they are not yet on
the schedule!! If you do not book at minimum a half year in advance you
will have only
a small chance to get the tickets you like. Most companies give
you
the chance to book 364 days in advance. Last minute booking is in my
experience a real hazardous game except you are single and independend
in departure
and arrival dates.

Most of the airlines fly
via Jo'burg. But
Mombasa, Nairobi, Harare, Windhoek are stop over towns. Various other
cities are also used
by some airlines. As far as I know is a Non-Stop-flight from Europe to
Cape Town only available
and that all not on every day of the week.
What type of flights the airlines offer is a matter of permanent
changing. So I'm not able to give you an advice.
Daylight flights may be nice but you arrive in Cape Town shortly before
midnight!
Be aware that changing the plane in Jo'burg means that you have to
claim your baggage and walk through customs and to check in
again. A time consuming process!!!

Please remember that even airlines like:
offer flights to Jo'burg or Cape Town.

is not complete!

Not all flights are direct flights but that's better than nothing.
The
best service I think you will find on flights with KLM.
Non-stop flights from Amsterdam are available and direct flights via
Jo'burg to Cape Town too.
