This is a combined panoramic display of 3 fotos taken on a sunny autumn
afternoon (May 2005) over Somerset West
|
|
The view from the terrace at dawn over
outer parts of Somerset West and Strand. The sun goes down in the
Atlantic and the long shadow of the cape mountains with the Table
Mountain as the highest point covers almost the whole area. Only the
"sky scrapers" in "Strand" at the shore
of the "False Bay" and the town "Gordon's Bay" stay in the sunshine for
some
more minutes. The big greens in the middle of the picture belong to 2
golf
courses. The white assembly of buildings is the Mall of Somerset West.
In
the background you see the southernmost part of the "Hottentot Mountains"
forming the right shore of the "False Bay". Cape Peninsula formes the
other
side of the bay, which is here not visible. |
