The Fourth Symposium of the Technical Group on Footwear Biomechanics will be held August 5-7, 1999 in Canmore, Canada. Canmore is a small town of 9000 inhabitants located in the Rocky Mountains approximately 100 km west of Calgary.

Following on successful previous meetings in Calgary, Cologne and Tokyo the Symposium will include invited speakers, free communication and discussion forums. The symposium will directly preceed the International Society of Biomechanics XVIIth Congress being held from August 8-13, in Calgary.

Calgary-Canmore Transportation
 
Transportation to/from Canmore can be by rental car or by bus. Brewster
buslines (www.brewster.ca) and the Banff Airporter (www.banff.net/airporter)
operate several routes (approximately every two hours) each day from the
Calgary airport to the Greenwood Inn. A one-way ticket costs approximately
$30 - 36 CDN.
 
Tentatively, there are two charter buses booked to leave the airport at 1:00
pm and 5:00 pm on August 5th and two buses leaving Canmore at 7:00 am and 11
am on August 8th. If there is enough interest, these buses can be booked at
a cost of approximately $15 one-way. Beside the price advantage, the charter
buses returning to Calgary offer direct drop off at the required hotels
whereas the scheduled routes return to the airport. If you are interested in
using the charter buses, please contact Darren Stefanyshyn indicating which
bus you would like to book a seat on.
