The main goal of the institute AKS is to establish a future-oriented programme for the bachelor and master study in control engineering. His goal for the research is to play an international leading role in the field of fault tolerant control systems.

The institute AKS offers a number of courses in the areas of control engineering and advanced control theory, which are a part of the bachelor and master programmes EIT, ISE as well as ACE. AKS provides students with the excellent opportunity for project, bachelor and maters work, which is generally integrated into a research project or into a collaboration project with industry.

The research activities in the institute AKS are focuses on

  • Model- and observer-based fault diagnosis and fault tolerant techniques as well as their application to the automotive  industry and mechatronic systems
  • Data-driven methods for process monitoring and supervision with application to the process industry
  • Fault-tolerant embedded and networked control systems.
