Research interests: Development of Dynamic Combinatorial Libraries (DCLs) of surface binding ligands
Survivin is a member of the family of inhibitors of apoptosis (IAPs) and is overexpressed in most human tumor cells and therefore an interesting target for new therapies.
Dynamic Combinatorial Libraries (DCLs) are developed for biological targets, especially survivin. Hereby various functionalized peptide arms are conjugated with various scaffolds statistically to gain all possible variations for protein surface binding ligands. By testing of various libraries the best ligand can be found. This strategy allows screening of a vast amount of different structures without the need to synthesize them one at a time.
