As an integral part of the German educational system, inclusion has a great impact on EFL education. In this context, the project Englisch inklusiv addresses the need for extended initial teacher education in order to equip teachers for their day-to-day work in inclusive classrooms. In particular, the project seeks to expand the existing teacher training courses with classes that specifically deal with inclusion. The ultimate aim is to have a positive influence on students’ attitudes towards inclusive EFL education and to give them opportunities to gain experience within this field. Students in both the Master of Education and Bachelor will gain valuable insights into inclusive practice through the project’s networking with various inclusive cooperation partners. In this way they will learn how to teach heterogeneous groups and implement inclusion in their own school contexts.
