GIS block course for beginners in the first week of April!

GIS (Geographic Information Systems) is a standard tool in geography, ecology, and hence, biology. It allows to map, manage, visualize and analyze all kind of spatial data. Biological data (e.g. sampling sites, nature reserves, species distribution) can be placed in a spatial context and related to abiotic data (e.g. land use, climate, habitat conditions, migration corridors). Such kind of analyses and GIS are not only applied in research but are also part of the daily work in consultant companies and agencies. Because it is so powerful, GIS has become an indispensable tool in ecology but also in all other fields analyzing spatial data like epidemiology or urban planning.

We will offer a GIS course for beginners in the first week of April.
