Scientific publication about LoFIP wins Best Student Paper Award at IEEE Logistics Conference in France

A paper co-authored by Cyril Alias, Alexander Goudz, Mandar Jawale and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Bernd Noche, all with Dept. of Transport Systems and Logistics, University of Duisburg-Essen, entitled “Generating a Business Model Canvas for Future-Internet-based Logistics Control Towers” has been awarded the “IEEE ICALT 2015 Best Student Paper Award” during the 2015 IEEE 4th International Conference on Advanced Logistics and Transport (ICALT) in Valenciennes (France) in May 2015.

The paper uses research results from the national research project LoFIP (Logistics Future Internet Platform) and features an examination of possible ways of exploiting the potential of Future-Internet-based logistics control towers in the transportation and logistics domain with the help of a business model canvas.

„The award proves the ever growing significance of logistics within the IEEE community, on the one hand, and the international visibility of Duisburg as a major logistics research location, on the other.”, shows Prof. Noche, Chair of the Department of Transport Systems and Logistics and Board Chairman of the Centre of Logistics and Traffic, his delight about the international recognition for his team.
