PhD thesis: Effects of multiple stressors on metazoan parasite communities

The aim of this project is to investigate the effects of stream degradation and recurrence on metazoan parasite communities and the subsequent effects on free-living organisms. Within the CRC 1439 - RESIST fish, snails and benthic invertebrates from 40 sites affected by different stressors in the Emscher/Boye and Kinzig catchments will be analysed for parasites. Historical data will also be used to obtain temporal trends. Furthermore, the responses of parasitised and non-parasitised benthic invertebrates are experimentally induced.
