Theoretical and fundamental aspects in electrodynamics

Topological Photonics – Topologically nontrivial magnetic textures (arrows) can mold impinging electromagnetic waves endowing it with local chirality, spin, and orbital angular momentum. Characteristics of the scattered waves reflect the inherent geometry and topology of the magnetic texture. More details can be found in the Research Article by Jamal Berakdar and co-workers (DOI: 10.1002/adom.202503479).

Selection of dates available for Maxwell's theory revision course

Dear students,

The Maxwell Theory revision course will be offered again this semester. About the subject:

Maxwell's equations are the central element in the description of electromagnetism. In this course, Maxwell's equations are considered in integral and differential form. The balancing act between mathematically precise formulation and intuitive physical conjecture is combined to form an overall picture. Various illustrative examples and sample problems on static, stationary and dynamic problems are dealt with in depth.
The course serves as preparation or accompaniment to the lectures "Theoretical Electrical Engineering".

The lecture will start in week 17 (week starting 23.04.2026). The weekly date will result from the following poll: Link to the poll.

5th YRA MedTech Symposium 2026 September 17th-18th 2026

This is a symposium aimed at PhD students, master's and bachelor's students studying medical technology in North Rhine-Westphalia. PhD projects and master's and bachelor's theses can be presented here. The symposium is organized by the Young Researchers Academy MedTech in North Rhine-Westphalia and serves as a networking platform for PhD students and students universities in North Rhine-Westphalia.
