Growth media - Central Collection of Algal Cultures (CCAC)
Culture Medium BSM (Bacterial Standard Medium)
Components are dissolved in dH2O. Aliquots of the stock solution are added to the culture medium in the required dilution (for sterility tests 1:1, 1:10 and 1:100 dilutions are used in the CCAC).
Unused stock solution has to be discarded or to be autoclaved to prevent bacterial growth.

Growth Conditions
If not otherwise stated, growth temperature is +/- 15oC; light-dark-regime 14:10 h; light-intensity 5-15 µmol photons /m2/sec.
Media are made up to 1 litre with dH2O or filtered seawater, as indicated.
