Corona measures in the ICAN

In principle, the current "Operational measures concept - protective measures and workplace design for working during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic" of the University of Duisburg-Essen applies. Further information: https://www.uni-due.de/de/covid-19/

Within the NETZ building, medical mouth and nose protection (OP mask or FFP2 mask) must always be worn in the common areas (including corridors, stairwells, kitchenettes) or if a minimum distance of 1.5 metres cannot be maintained.

In addition, the following measures apply in ICAN:

Service operation

The service department is available to you as usual. Please contact our equipment supervisors with your enquiries.

User operation

User operation is currently only possible with restrictions. Users who have already been instructed can use the devices in application mode in consultation with the equipment supervisors. New instructions are now also possible again in consultation with the equipment supervisors.

Since the ICAN device management is still deactivated, appointments are only made in direct consultation with the equipment supervisors.

Users are granted access to the ICAN premises upon presentation of a certificate confirming a daily negative corona test, recovery from a covid disease in the last 6 months or full vaccination protection.

Instructions

For instructions, however, the ICAN insists on the status "vaccinated or recovered" and in addition "tested" for those to be trained. This requirement is higher than for simple user operation.

During trainings, there is no way to prevent trainees and ICAN scientists from being in the same lab for several hours, which justifies the higher safety requirements. ICAN staff will also, of course, test themselves before performing a training.
