Young Researcher Network
The Young Researcher Network (YouRNet) was founded at the Center for Nanointegration, University of Duisburg-Essen in the summer of 2010. The basic concept is to establish a professional network of high potential young researchers and to provide support for its members in their scientific careers.
Emphasis is placed on the following topics:
- “No one is all-knowing”. This is the principle behind the intra-university network which was created to act as a forum for scientific discussion, to provide a platform to share technological resources and to potentially allow for common proposals. In short, a “win-win situation” for network members and science.
- The installation of seminars with renowned experts from selected fields of science and industry, to prepare YouRNet members for their potential future as leaders in science,
- Furthermore, the YouRNet acts as a lobby for young scientist in order to address specific practical problems, such as the compatibility of family and a career in science.
Candidates for the YouRNet are young scientists who are explicitly pursuing a scientific career who, however, have not concluded their habilitation.
If you wish to become a member of the YouRNet, please contact the network speaker. (firstname.lastname@example.org)
