The selection committee announced the recipients of the most important award for young academics in Germany and their list included Daniel Balzani (33) working in the field of mechanical mechanics at the University of Duisburg-Essen. Balzani is one of the top young German scientists in this field and his impressive reputation and diversity of contacts have already earned him international recognition. He has forged new ground with his work on the development of a material model for describing the mechanical behavior of arterial tissue. His findings are significant, not only for optimizing medical treatment methods, but also for general materials theory.
