This book with the topic "Water" is of interest for everybody. Water is of central importance for the whole mankind. Just safe drinking water is not available forr millions of people. It is forseeable that the shortage of water will cause militant conflicts. Therefore the contributions of the Nobel Peace Prize Laureates Jose Ramos-Horta and the Dalai Lama are of visionary importance. An appreciation of Rico Besserdich, Profi-Photopher, Artist and Profi-Scuba Diver, is shown on this page. Recently Rico has represented his book in front of the Swedish parlament in Stockholm. In his talk he tried to convince the audience that they (politicians) and the public should enhance the efforts to fight for clean water on land and sea. It is a special honor for me that Rico has accepted my contribution in his book. As biologist (molecular geneticist and marine biologist) I observe the state of the sea worldwide (especiall the coral reefs - bleaching) with deep sorrow. in my short article I tried to address several severe problems. I think that the book is not only of interest for very involved divers but for everybody, who will care for the sustainability of our blue and green planet. The book rembered me to the famous song of Simon & Garfunkel. Sound of Silence (mit Lyrics). At minute 1:26 they speak of "flash of neon light". With some daydream a correlation to the neon-like colors of corals initiated by my fluorescence torches could be postulated. This is the link to the Original Version . You will love this book.
