Interdisciplinary funding for UDE postdoctoral researchers
Are you a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Duisburg-Essen aiming for an academic career? Would you like to realize your own research project, but still need time and resources to prepare your project application? The UDE Programme for the Promotion of Excellent Early Career Researchers ("UDE Programm zur Förderung des exzellenten wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchses") supports you in this phase with initial funding up to a maximum total amount of 30,000 €. The Rectorate invites applications within the programme twice a year.
The Gottschalk-Diederich-Baedeker-Preis of the Essen-based G. D. Baedeker Foundation is awarded for outstanding work by early career researchers at the University of Duisburg-Essen who dedicate themselves to exciting topics of high relevance and achieve excellence in the field of research and technology transfer. Researchers from all disciplines who are in the postdoctoral phase, lead a junior research group or hold a junior professorship can be nominated. The award is endowed with 5,000 €.
Further offers at UDE:
In order to improve the conditions for young researchers with children, they are supported by the program “Feuerwehrtopf”. Through this fund, extra child care costs in special situations can partly be reimbursed. This also holds for students in the final phase of their examinations.
These grants are called to tender indigent international students and doctoral reseachers at the University of Duisburg-Essen who will have completed their studies successfully within one year. Applications are to be directed to the international office of the University of Duisburg-Essen (contact person: Mr. Udo Rasum).
