Staying mobile in old age Age-appropriate driver assistance systems (ALFASY)

Age-appropriate driver assistance systems (ALFASY)" is a project funded by the State of NRW and the EU and carried out by the University of Duisburg-Essen, Ford-Werke GmbH, HEAD acoustics GmbH and Allround Team GmbH. This project takes part in the lead market competition MobilityLogistics.NRW of the Lead MarketAgency.NRW.

The aim of the project is the development, construction and empirical testing of an age-appropriate acoustic driver assistance system which is tailored to the needs of the constantly growing group of individual mobile older drivers and whose inclusion in the product portfolio also makes business sense for automobile manufacturers and suppliers. These age-appropriate driver assistance systems must meet the requirements of technology, safety, comfort and design and are a step on the long road to autonomous driving.

In an empirical study, 150 test persons in the 50+ age group will first be tested in a driving simulator at the University of Duisburg-Essen and then in a real test vehicle.

You will find all information on the project Age-appropriate Driver Assistance Systems (ALFASY) on the ALFASY homepage!

The ALFASY project is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
