Dipl.-Vw. Dors Hertrampf has been German ambassadrice in several countries, most recently North Korea and Tajikistan.
What are the conditions under which social innovations flourish? Who are the stakeholders and in what capacity do they understand and develop social innovation? How do social innovations diffuse and lead to social change? What are the challenges for a comprehensive innovation policy, which focuses on new participation structures, empowerment and human resources development as basic conditions for social innovation?
In light of increasing importance of social innovation the presentation looks at the theoretical concepts, areas of empirical research and observable trends in the field of social innovation on a global scale. On the basis of the results of the global research project SI-DRIVE it gives an overview of the current situation and the perspectives of social innovation research.
Als Pierre Littbarski im Sommer 1993 als erster deutscher Profi in die japanische Fußballliga wechselte, gab er dem Sport dort einen gewaltigen Schub. Nicht zuletzt ihm ist es zu verdanken, dass Fußball dort immer populärer wurde und Japan 2002 sogar die WM (zusammen mit Südkorea) ausrichten durfte. Mit dem Sport haben auch organisierte Fanclubs und Ultras Einzug gehalten und präsentieren sich heute mit einer Mischung aus importierten und originär japanischen Elementen. Manche Gruppennamen und Gesänge mögen aus Europa oder Südamerika stammen, zahlreiche andere Aspekte in und um die Fankurven aber sind echt japanisch – und wirklich erlebenswert. Das Institut für Ostasienwissenschaften widmet dieser Fankultur seine neue Fotoausstellung im 7. Stock des LE-Gebäudes.
Zur Eröffnung erzählen Pierre Littbarski (Fußballweltmeister und Profitrainer in Deutschland, Australien und Japan) und Benjamin Rabe (IN-EAST und aktives Mitglied der Fanszenen von Kashiwa Reysol und des VfL Wolfsburg).
Xi Jinping lenkt die Geschicke Chinas – er ist zugleich Generalsekretär der KP (seit 2012), Staatspräsident der VR China (seit 2013) sowie Vorsitzender der Zentralen Militärkommission. Mit der Neustrukturierung reagiert die Parteiführung auf die Veränderungen im Land und auf der weltpolitischen Ebene. In ihrem DFG-Projekt analysierte IN-EAST-Professorin Nele Noesselt, wie die chinesische Politik funktioniert und welche Lern- und Anpassungsprozesse das autoritäre Regime entwickelt hat.
Führende Chinaexperten – Prof. Joseph Fewsmith (Boston University), Prof. Kellee Tsai (Hong Kong University of Science and Technology), Prof. Gerald Chan (University of Auckland) und Prof. Guo Baogang (Dalton State) – diskutieren am runden Tisch, ob für die zweite Amtszeit Xi Jinpings ein Kurswechsel zu erwarten ist und welche langfristigen Ziele China verfolgt.

Prof. YANG Haijiao, born in March 1955, is Doctor of Law, Secondary Researcher and Doctoral Supervisor of Institute of Political Science at Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), Beijing, part-time professor of over 20 universities and colleges including Jilin University, Changchun, University of Political Science and Law, Chinese Academy of Governance, Beijing Normal University, etc.
She works on political theories and Chinese contemporary politics for years; published more than 200 papers, several monographs and many reports on current politics; serves as vice chairman and secretary general of CASS.
This presentation will focus on a Japanese sociologist Yusuke Maki’s masterpiece, Comparative Sociology of Time. The main purpose of this presentation is to introduce the significance of this book to foreign contexts. This purpose will be achieved by means of comparing this book with other works of the sociology of time such as Eviatar Zerubavel’s and Anthony Giddens’ work, which pay close attention to the time peculiar to modern society as well as Maki.
Shingo Torigoe is Researcher at Chukyo University, Nagoya, and Lecturer at Meiji Gakuin University, Tokyo. He also participates in the DFG project “Warten. Zur Erforschung eines sozialen Alltagsphänomens” at University of Konstanz. He studied Sociology at Keio University, Tokyo, and finished his doctoral dissertation this month.
