Dr. Hyekyung Cho from the Hanwha Economic Research Institute (Seoul, Korea) is joining the postgraduate research training group GRK 1613 Risk and East Asia, IN-EAST, University of Duisburg-Essen as a visiting professor from the 15th November 2015 until the 31st December 2015. Dr. Cho supports the activities of IN-EAST to extend its Korea-related activities. She is hosted by the Chair of East Asian Economic Studies/Japan and Korea (Prof. Dr. Werner Pascha).
Dr. Cho has conducted her doctoral research in the field of political science at the Free University of Berlin with a dissertation on The Role of State in China’s Market Transition and Integration into the World Economy 1979–2001. She has been a research fellow and visiting professor at several research institutes in Korea while focusing on areas such as: Theories of International Relations, East Asian Capitalism and Political Economy of East Asian Development.
