Karen Shire Elected Vice President of Research Committee Economy and Society at ISA
Prof. Karen Shire, Phd, was honored by the election as Vice President of the Research Committee Economy and Society of the International Sociological Association (ISA).
About the ISA
The ISA was founded in 1949 under the auspices of UNESCO. The goal of the ISA is to represent sociologists everywhere, regardless of their school of thought, scientific approaches or ideological opinion, and to advance sociological knowledge throughout the world. Its members come from 162 countries.

The Research Committee on Economy and Society RC02 was established in 1978 to promote the development of the theory and practice of the sociology of economic life; to improve research and promote meetings in the field of the sociology of economic activity at all national, regional and international levels; to provide information on significant developments in this field, particularly through scholar publications; to unite the professional qualities, social consciousness and experience of its members for work on the problems of the sociology of economic activities throughout the world.
