Poster Exhibition at the IN-EAST School of Advanced Studies
The Research Group "Urban Systems in East Asia" at the IN-EAST School of Advanced Studies, sponsored by the BMBF, is focusing on different aspects of contemporary urban planning in Asian cities, bringing together researchers with a background in planning sciences (architecture), humanities and cultural studies to research urban East Asia regarding space, time and identity.
When members of the Advanced School team came across the work "New Designs for Asia", created by students at the Faculty of Architecture at the Technical University of Delft, they noticed the substantive overlapping between the student’s work and the research at the IN-EAST School. The IN-EAST School invited the Urbanism Department of the Faculty of Architecture at TU Delft to present the project. The cooperation resulted in a poster exhibition in the entrance hall of the IN-EAST School.
The work presented in the exhibition makes use of the medium of visual media, the common way to exchange information between architects and urbanists, illustrating suggestions for new designs for specific districts in East Asian megacities. The drawings are accompanied by background information on the various projects’ genesis.
The creators of the work invite you to first 'read' the drawings and then turn to the written articles as you go past them whenever you have the chance to visit the IN-EAST School.
