Changsoo Kim new Acting Professor of chair Business and Economic Studies of East Asia
Changsoo Kim, Ph.D. is a new visiting professor at the Institute of East Asian Studies (IN-EAST) and Mercator School of Management, from April to September 2012. He is a professor of economics currently on leave from Pusan National University (PNU), Republic of Korea. Prof. Kim received his PhD in economics from Rutgers University in New Jersey, USA.
Prof. Kim will teach courses on South Korea’s Economic Development Experiences and Current Economic Challenges, North East Asia’s International Economic Relations on the master level and an undergraduate course, Introduction to Korea: its Culture and Economy.
In recent years, Prof. Kim served as Dean of International Affairs and Dean of the Graduate School of International Studies at PNU and held professional positions such as president of the Korea Association of International Trade and Commerce. He is an expert in areas of international economics and Northeast Asian economic issues. During his stay in Duisburg, he hopes to develop a collaborative relationship in research and education between faculty and students of UDE and PNU.
