Weisha Zhang

Weisha Zhang (from Chengdu) studied German Language and Literature at Beijing and at Shanghai International Studies Universities, with visiting semesters at University of Bayreuth and Humboldt University Berlin. After working as journalist at the German-language newspaper "Beijing Rundschau" and the German embassy in Beijing, and as trainer for cross-cultural communication at Shanghai Volkswagen, she is now lecturer for German language and literature at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Chengdu. As “Bundeskanzler Scholarship” holder she will stay at the IN-EAST from Nov. 2017 to Oct. 2018 (until Feb. 2018 in parental leave) with a research focus on how political parties and their youth organizations can attract young people and promote exchange between China and Germany, especially her own party: Jiusan, a United Front party allied with the CPC.
