The essential target of the IZfB is the long-term, structural strengthening of Educational Research at the University Duisburg-Essen. In order to support the international and interdisciplinary character  and to support young scientists, the IZfB offers the following: 

• Colloquia with external lecturers or with doctoral students are organized with the help of the research groups

• Workshops on methods in the field Educational Research are offered
  (current programm - german page)
• We invite top-level visiting scientists from the field Educationel Research in order to give the members of the IZfB the chance of exchange, networking or the opportunity to profit from the expertise of guest scientists.
• The IZfB supports seminars in the field Educational Research, which take place at UDE.
• The data archive „Childhood and youth in times of urban change“ is being created.
• Doctoral students can acquire the certificate "Interdisciplinary Educational Research".
