Prof. Dr. Sebastian Karpf (Universität zu Lübeck): High-speed Imaging Flow Cytometry with SLIDE
ZWU-Gastvortag - Virtueller Vortrag Wasserforschung
Prof. Dr. Sebastian 'Nino' Karpf (Universität zu Lübeck, Institut für Biomedizinische Optik (BMO)): "High-speed Imaging Flow Cytometry with SLIDE"
Abstract: Recently we introduced a new technology for imaging cells at high resolution in imaging flow cytometry. The SLIDE technology is based on Two-Photon Fluorescence and Fluorescence Lifetime (FLIM) and is capable of acquiring up to 4000 images per second (Karpf, Nat Comm, 2020). This speed allows imaging of a multitude of cells with rich details and high sub-cellular resolution. We show imaging of cells in flow like labelled stem cells in whole blood and unstained microalgae with autofluorescence from the chloroplasts. The system can be used for e.g. biomedical applications (e.g. regenerative medicine, drug development, cellular phenotyping), the study of neuronal activity at kHz time resolution or microbiological cell sorting.
