DESCRIPTION:Frau Ariane Bischoff (Käte Hamburger Kolleg / Centre for Global Cooperation Research)
Sharing Responsibility in Mass Displacement: How Do Multi-Level Actors Perceive Responsibility and Resilience?
53rd Käte Hamburger Lecture
This Käte Hamburger Lecture problematizes the concept of responsibility-sharing in the realm of refugee displacement. After unpacking the multifaceted meanings of the concept, it looks at how patterns and dynamics of responsibility-sharing play out on the ground. To that end, drawing on field research in Geneva and Lebanon, Tamirace looks at the discrepancies and gaps in perceptions and discursive practices over responsibility-sharing in the context of mass displacement from Syria.
