Prof. Karen Shire, PhD -- Family Supports and Insecure Work: The politics of household service employment in conservative welfare regimes
EKfG-Forschungsforum Gender "Gesundheit - Care - Geschlecht"
Prof. Karen Shire, PhD, ist Gast im Forschungsforum Gender. Ihr Vortragstitel: "Family Supports and Insecure Work: The politics of household service employment in conservative welfare regimes"

Zum Inhalt: Two worlds of women’s employment meet in private households. They are legitimated as family supports, thus representing one of the ways in which the modernization of conservative welfare contexts with strong male breadwinner models are creating new class-based inequalities between women. The findings suggest the need to pay more attention to the new employment risks in policies aimed at formalizing and expanding personal and household service work.
