Die Arbeitsgruppe bearbeitet die Gebiete Social Data Science (SDS) und Sociotechnical Systems (STS), die sich mit unterschiedlichen Facetten aus dem Zusammenspiel von Mensch und Technologie im Kontext der digitalen Transformation befassen.

Der Lehrstuhl ist in den Schwerpunkt Human-Centered Physical Systems der Fakultät Ingenieurwissenschaften an der Universität Duisburg-Essen sowie in das European Research Center for Information Systems (ERCIS) eingebunden.
