Internationales Incoming Visiting Students

As a visiting student you benefit from a large variety of courses within our Undergraduate and Graduate programs.

Although most of the courses at the Institute of Sociology are held in German, each semester we offer an increasing number of courses lectured in English as well. You will find the courses listed in our electronic course catalogue LSF. In order to find English taught courses, please choose "Course Overview" -> "Gesellschaftswissenschaften" -> Social and Economics Sciences International Program (SESIP). SESIP includes a variety of courses taught at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Mercator School of Management and the Institute of East Asian Studies. Moreover, during the summer semester, visiting exchange students can  participate in the international Summer School in Global and Transnational Sociology.

In order to offer international students an even larger number of classes in English we are cooperating with the Faculty of Social Science of the Ruhr-University Bochum. Students can choose classes from any university that is part of the University Alliance Ruhr (UAR). This is made possible partly through our excellent public transport system and the Semester ticket which entitles to free public transport in the whole state of North-Rhine-Westphalia.

Useful information for international exchange students on application, student accommodation and assistance and further offers is available on the websites of UDE's international office International Office der UDE

With questions regarding study program, course selection and Learning Agreement, please contact the departmental ERASMUS coordinator.
