Socioeconomics in the BA Social Science Teacher Training Program.

The Institute of Socioeconomics is involved in the Social Sciences teaching program (Bachelor and Master). Here, it is responsible for the economic components, which are presented in more detail on these pages.


The socio-economic components in the BA Social Sciences at the University of Duisburg-Essen can be found in the basic module Economics.

The basic module Economics is divided into four courses

  • Introduction to macroeconomics
  • Introduction to economic methods
  • Introduction to Microeconomics
  • Introduction to economic and social policy

Socioeconomics in the MA Social Science Teaching Program

In the Master of Social Sciences of the teacher training program, the Institute of Socioeconomics currently offers the following course in the area of Topics in the Social Sciences:
