Automation technology plays a central key role in both industrial value generation and also with respect to the ability to act as key enabling technology for most of industries. Classic automation technologies use methods and tools whose methodological and technical background is now part of many advanced study programs.
Safety, reliability and fault detection, damage diagnosis and prognosis are key requirements for modern products, processes and production processes, they are essential components of quality management systems, environmental requirements, approval procedures, etc.
The Master program Automation and Safety - Safe Systems establishes on a basic engineering bachelor's degree or a bachelor's degree in safety engineering the required further engineering fundamentals and application knowledge necessary for the design of safe systems, processes, and products, mainly in the field or the context of automation technology. As application field, the students can choose related applications from mechanical engineering. The main focus of the Master degree program is the development of methodological skills to make products and processes safer and more reliable, using methods of automation and control technology (Automation and Control), implementing them within an engineering context, as well as evaluating and documenting the results respectively.
Graduates are both qualified for jobs in all related science and technological areas in which automation technology is used as well as for product and process development in which monitoring and supervision is applied to ensure the safety of people and environment or quality requirements has to be ensured. |
