3rd IWaTec Winter school in El Gouna

The IWaTec consortium in cooperation with TU Berlin Campus El Gouna organized the third winter school on Sustainable Use of Resources: Water and Energy for Egypt from February 21st till March 1st, 2015.

The main objective of the school was to bring together scientists, experts, and students from Germany and Egypt for scientific and knowledge exchange about water and energy technologies important for Egypt. About 30 well-known experts from Germany and Egypt gave lectures and presentations on topics such as membrane technologies, solar driven desalination, sustainable water management, microbiology in drinking water, ecology and human health, solar cell technology and wastewater treatment. Excursions to waste water treatment plants, desalination plants as well as an boat excursion on coastal ecology enlightened the lessons learned from the lectures. The invited speakers reported on the latest scientific results and cutting edge technologies.

The participants of the winter school also had the opportunity to present their own research results in form of poster presentations.
