Itinerary

The IWaTec program is divided into the following training and research sections:

1. Summer school at the University of Duisburg-Essen (2 weeks) on “Enhanced technologies for water & wastewater treatment”, including

  • site visits (e.g., waste water treatment plants, water extraction & drinking water supply works)
  • key note and introductory lectures given by involved professors
  • lectures/presentations given by students
  • group work
  • complementary skill training (e.g., innovative skill training)

2. 4-months stay at the University of Duisburg-Essen with

  • participation in lectures, seminars or laboratory courses of the UDE water MSc. programs
  • joining of research groups and small research project related to master topics (e.g. experimental part)

3. Winter school at the Fayoum University (2 weeks) on
“Integrated water management”, including

  • site key note and introductory lectures given by involved professors
  • lectures/presentations given by students
  • group work
  • complementary skill training

4. 1-month practical training in Egypt at FU, other research institutes and/or companies

 

5. Reporting and completion of the course
