Mathematics

One recurring feature in my research is the Hitchin moduli space in its various manifestations. Some of my work has dealt with the relationship between parabolic Higgs bundles and Higgs bundles on an associated orbifold/root stack, extending work of N. Borne, with the latter perspective allowing a straightforward generalization to arbitrary reductive structure groups. On the other side of the non-abelian Hodge story, I am also interested in the de Rham (moduli of flat connections) and Betti spaces (representation varieties), especially in the “wild” case, when the connections have higher order poles. Past work has involved isomonodromic deformation for families of moduli of connections, generalizing (independent) work of I. Krichever and J. Hurtubise. More recently, in joint projects with T. Hausel, M. Mereb and D. Wyss, I have been involved in the computation of algebraic invariants of “open de Rham spaces” and “wild character varieties” (the corresponding Betti spaces), often using arithmetic and representation-theoretic techniques.
