LEEDCal

LEEDCal 2013 (v 4.1)

The free LEEDCal software package provides a powerful algorithm to determine and correct systematic distortions in LEED images. Easy to operate via its graphical user interface, LEEDCal will automatically generate a correction matrix upon analyzing a calibration sample (exhibiting a well-known surface structure). This calculated matrix can be saved and applied later on, by using LEEDCal_corr, to rectify all future diffraction patterns recorded with the same LEED device. This works also in batch mode! The results allow accurate interpretation of lattice constants/epitaxial relations when used in combination with the LEEDLab software or by your own methods.

LEEDLab

LEEDCal 2018 (v 1.2)

LEEDLab is a software packagemaking it possible to simulate (free) and quantitatively analyze (available from Fritz & Sojka GbR) LEED patterns. It has been developed to enable geometric simulations of complex surface structures, allowing objective determination of the lattice parameters and epitaxial relations. For carefully calibrated devices (using LEEDCal and LEEDCal_corr) an unsurpassed accuracy of typically 1% can be attained.

Required Software/ Installation Instructions

For LEEDLab 2018 the MATLAB Runtime (R2018a (9.4)) is required. It can be installed using the Zip-file with web_installer.

For LEEDCal 2013 the MATLAB Runtime (R2013a (8.1)) is required. MCR R2013a (8.1)

After the installation of a MATLAB Runtime a restart of the whole system is highly recommended.

The Zip-file for LEEDLab 2018 contains LEEDLab_ _Base.exe, which should be stored in the same folder like the LEEDLab 2018 (v 1.0).exe. For LEEDLab_ _Base.exe the MATLAB Runtime (R2013a (8.1)) is required, too. LEEDLab_ _Base.exe will be used by LEEDLab 2018 (v 1.0).exe automatically. It includes the fit algorithms and requires a license.
